Mudman's remote oil filter.

Saw it over on Lextreme - if the Tundra mount doesn't pan out, I'll be going this route...

What type of adapter is this? I know the lines and fittings are pieced together but what is the main piece on the engine?  ???

I'll ask him.  AFAIK, the Ford 5.0L is supposed to fit.  I've not verified this yet though.

Mudman's post when I asked previously:

"I bought the oil filter by-pass adaptor, remote oil filter mount, braided hose & fittings all seperately and it cost around (NZ) $500. The oil filter by-pass adaptor had a 3/4 - 16 thread and will fit most Ford, Chrysler, Toyota, Nissan & VW engines which have spin on filters. All the parts are readily available from most automotive performance shops."

My take is that he's still using the stock part that attaches to the motor, then an adapter for the hoses from that.  Seems it would solve the issue, but just barely.

I think Lextreme made a plate that attached directly to the block. I'll research it and post back.

Alright, I found the thread on Lextreme.

http://lextreme.com///forums/showthread.php?t=6653

If you jump soon and post over there, I'm sure Lextreme (being the nice guy he is) will order up a few more.

Lextreme is putting together a preorder right now, so better get on it.  Hopefully by mid July, we will have these plates fabbed and shipped.

Post up a pic - you might be looking at the hydraulic fan lines.

Will put a pic as soon as possible
Would it be worth putting a cooler on these motors as well as a remote oil filter
