which diff ratio?
« on: October 12, 2007, 04:19:49 AM »
I was hoping somebody who has done the 1uz conversion into thier 4x4 could give me an idea on what diff ratio's i should run. At the moment im getting 3000rpm @ 100km/h. I would like something around 2300rpm or less @ 100km/h . Im running the G52 5 speed and 32" tires.

I would think 4.10's or numerically lower would do the trick.  My Jeep has 3.55's and I run around that RPM with 30.5" tires. My 4Runner is going to be screaming with 5.29's and 35's.

My mate has a spare 4.3, i was thinking of using that and then i only have to buy 1 more crown. I think to be getting the numbers i am now i must have 4.88 or something close to that.
 I also wanted to go bigger tires... like 33"x 12.5" x 15.
Cebby, do you think 4.3's with 33's will cut it?

My 4Runner has 4.11's with 31x10.5's and (stock 3vze) turns them without too much hassle. I'd imagine you'd be fine.
