hey guys i'm new here. i'm putting this here since there wasn't a forum for pre79 hilux's. my name's bernie, i'm from arizona.

my project is a 73 hilux 2wd, i picked it up off craigslist for $240 Smiley . factory it has an 18r-c, but the exhaust manifold was missing. after a couple months of half assed searching i decided a 1uz swap would be much more fun. the problem is the factory frame is way narrower than any 79-95 toyota truck. and since i'm installing air suspension onto it, i've decided to scratch build the entire frame and suspension, with the front suspension rough based off of the 84-95 2wd.

here is the truck

1uz donor from a 89 ls400

and after i pulled it and brought it home.

this is the begining of my scratch built frame

and this is what i have planned eventually, a bumper taillight combo from a 1975 cadillac deville

That looks like a cool project.  Nice job on the frame - I look forward to more updates!
